Joseph Griffith
MSN, CRNA
Instructor

Bio:

Joe currently works in his home state of Michigan as the lead of the CRNA acute pain service at Mercy Health St. Mary’s in Grand Rapids. He is striving to decrease perioperative opioid consumption via block utilization and systems management. Joe is passionate about his work and is continually challenging himself and those around him to apply the most up to date clinical practice guidelines and block techniques. He is always excited to share his knowledge and collaborate with others to individualize care and achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients and colleagues.

Joe earned both a BS in Human Physiology and his BSN from Michigan State University. He began his nursing career in Washington, DC, in the critical care unit at George Washington University Hospital. With his passion for lifelong learning and teaching, he quickly became an instructor for the Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses and Trauma Nursing Core Courses.

Joe attended anesthesia school at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. There, he pursued a rural clinical tract in order to gain experience with ultrasound guided nerve blocks and learn from independent CRNAs. At small hospitals and surgery centers across the Midwest, Joe continues to apply the medical and problem-solving skills, as well as innovative mindset, that he’s cultivated throughout his career.
